Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

👩‍🏫 About the Tutor

Who will be teaching my child?
Your child will learn from me, a native Spanish speaker from Bogotá, Colombia. I bring not only my language expertise but also cultural insights to help your child learn Spanish in a fun, natural, and engaging way.

🧑‍🎓 About the Classes

What ages do you work with?
I specialize in private online lessons for kids and teens, ages 7 to 17.

How are the classes structured?
Every class is private (just your child and me) and taught over Zoom. I tailor each lesson to your child’s age, level, and goals. We balance speaking, listening, vocabulary, and grammar — always in a supportive and positive way.

Do you help with school Spanish or homework?
Yes! I can assist with school assignments, exam prep, or simply build your child’s confidence in conversational Spanish.

What kind of Spanish will my child learn?
Your child will learn clear, neutral Colombian Spanish — especially the friendly accent from Bogotá. I also include common expressions and age-appropriate slang so they sound natural and real-world ready.

Can I reschedule a class?
Yes! You can reschedule up to 24 hours before class using the booking link (though I really appreciate at least 48 hours’ notice when possible).

What happens if my child misses a class?
Missed classes without notice are counted as used. That said, I understand life happens — please reach out as soon as you can, and I’ll do my best to help.

🌱 Learning Progress & Support

How long will it take for my child to become fluent?
It varies for each learner! Fluency takes consistent effort and early, regular practice. With ongoing lessons and some practice outside of class, your child will start understanding and using Spanish more confidently within a few months — and build toward fluency over time.

Do you assign homework?
Yes — I generally do like to give homework to help reinforce what your child learns in class. The assignments are designed to be light, practical, and supportive of their progress, and I’m happy to adjust based on your preferences.

🌐 Technology Requirements

What do we need for class?
A device with Zoom installed, a reliable internet connection, and a quiet space where your child can focus and speak comfortably.

What if we have tech issues?
If Zoom or the internet fails during class, I’ll either extend the time or reschedule — no time lost!
